It is one of the best treatments available today for treating different skin concerns. We use the Dermapen 4, the world’s most advanced microneedling device. Collagen and elastin stimulation is very important to keep the skin looking healthy and youthful, and this can be done with microneedling.
Skin needling is based on the skin’s ability to repair itself after it has been physically damaged. After an injury has occurred within the skin, the wound healing process will start. Where in all the stages the main focus will be to replace old damaged tissue with healthy new collagen.

The Dermapen 4 has 16 micro needles that creates micro-injuries in the skin, this triggers healing of the skin that will stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen. When this controlled injuries occurs, your skin will destroy the damaged tissue and will replace it with freshly produced collagen.
- It is very important to be on a professional skin care range to make sure skin health is optimal for healing.
- Do not use any harsh exfoliaters or Retinols 48 hours before treatments.
- Avoid any tanning or sun exposure.
- If you have a history of fever blisters please inform us, an anti-viral will be needed to prevent any fever blister outbreaks after your treatment.
For 24 – 48 hours after your Dermapen procedure, your skin may feel tight, warm and will appear red, as if you have a mild sunburn.
- Wash face with gentle cleanser, and use your barrier cream provided.
- Apply your SPF daily.
- You may use a soothing and calming face mask to bring down any inflammation.
- Your normal skin care regimen may be resumed 5-7 days after your treatment.
For 48 hours after your treatment you should AVOID:
- Any sun exposure or tanning
- Exercise
- Botox or Fillers
- Tattooing (if on the same area that was treated)
- Hot showers, saunas or steam rooms that induce sweating
- Spray tanning
- Swimming in a pool

The peel is applied like a mask because of the cream consistency. We also apply the peel on the eyelids and neck.
The client has to come in over 2 consecutive days. The peel is applied for 2 hours on day one and removed, then the client returns on the following day for anther 2 hour peel application where it is removed afterwards. After the peeling the client only uses a barrier cream supplied by the clinic and a sunblock for the rest of the week.
It is very important to have a consultation with our skin therapist prior to a peeling treatment. The therapist has to analyse and consider your skin type, conditions present on the skin , skin health, current skin care regime, medication and contraindications.

Chemical peels improves the appearance of the skin and conditions present on the skin. With the application of the peeling cream we cause the top layers of the skin to lift and peel off, that results in the skin’s texture being smoother, less impurities and with less ageing.
Chemical peels are a treatment we use to speed up the natural cellular turnover of the skin cells. When the bonds between the skin cells are dissolved and the epidermal cells on the surface begin to shed quicker and more, the shedding skin cells send signals for more cell division to take place. That forces keratinocytes to the top of the epidermis, the stratum corneum. This improves acne, fade pigment, refines texture and leave the skin with a fresh new layer of skin on the surface.
The treatment is very tolerable. For approximately 10 minutes after application of the peel there will be a stinging sensation present on the skin, thereafter only tightness, very little discomfort. We use a fan during the treatment to ease the stinging sensation. Most clients fall asleep after the initial stinging sensation, or listen to music or podcasts for the remainder of time.
During the rest of the week, your skin will feel irritated, dry tight and will be red. The skin may also be itchy as it is healing. Swelling is also possible. especially around the eye area. This is easily treated with an antihistamine. We also provide a barrier cream to use through out the process. You may also take Tylenol to relieve any discomfort.
Yes, the peel is a very safe treatment that is effective to remove the top layer of the skin to reveal a youthful, more even toned and fresher skin. The peel has special properties in the base ingredients, this prevents the acids to penetrate into the deeper living layers of the skin.
The results of the peels are cumulative, that means that each additional peel will provide added improvement to the skin. The results of the peels can last for a year or more. How well you take care of your skin following the treatment plays a big role. We recommend to use a medical grade skin care range and daily use of a broad spectrum sunscreen.
Results can be seen immediately after the skin has healed. The results from the peel are quick, impressive and long lasting. You will see an improvement of sun damage, signs of ageing, scarring, acne and any uneven skin tone. For 8-12 months after the peel the skin will continue to improve.
The results of our peels are cumulative. Optimal results with this treatment is seen after an initial series of peels that is spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. After one peel an improvement will be noticed, but often more repeated peels are necessary for the desired effect.
You can expect redness, dryness, slight swelling, scaling, peeling and uneven skin colour. Many clients work throughout the week and even go out to restaurant, whilst others hibernate for the week. For working clients, we always suggest the first application of the peel take place after on a Wednesday. Most clients go into work on Thursday and come for their second application on Thursday evening. Some take the day off on the Friday. The worst two days of downtime take place over the weekend.
Peels should not be used on pregnant or nursing women, clients who have a impaired immune system, clients with an allergy to resorcinol or aspirin, clients with active herpes, clients who currently has a cold, flu or is feeling under the weather, clients who are sunburned or has a rash , clients who has used Accutane in the last year.
This statement is a common misconception, the opposite is true. While we remove layers of skin from the surface, the inflammatory response that this action creates stimulates healing and the regeneration of new, plumper and healthier skin.

The treatment improves skin texture, smoothing fine lines, wrinkles, evening out skin discolouration and skin conditions such as acne. The results of the peels are accumulative, with each additional micro-peel treatment, you will notice improvement in the overall appearance of the skin. - Resorcinol: This ingredient is used to break down rough, scaly or hardened skin and is also used to treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, seborrhoea, photo ageing, solar keratoses and epidermal atrophy, It also improves skin tone and unevenness.
- Kojik Acid: This ingredient has an effect on the melanocytes interfering with the production of melanin. It has excellent skin-lightening properties and is also as an antioxidant.
- Salicylic Acid: This ingredient can be used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, oily skin and congestion. It dissolves the keratin plugs, improves collagen production and thickness of the healthy skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
